ベランダでこんなに野菜が作れるんだー、と思うほどいろいろな野菜が載っています。私はとりあえずリーフレタスを試したのですが、これが、とってもとっても次から次へと新しい葉っぱが出てきて、半年は楽しみました。写真もきれいで見やすいし、解説もわかりやすいので、初心者の方にもお勧めです。ベランダでじゃがいもができるなんて驚きでした。畑で、しかもある程度の深さがないとできないと思っていたのに、なんと袋を使って栽培するんです。いい種芋を探して、次はこれに挑戦してみたいと思っています。

妻が今年、トマトとバジルと青ジソをプランターで育て初めてから、いつの間にか自分が家庭菜園にはまってしまいました。なにせ初めての事ですので色々な本を買ってみましたが、写真やイラストもきれいでシンプルな解説と植え時や主な病害虫の時期がカレンダーで書いてあり、比較的わかりやすいところが良いです。また、ばかし肥料やバイオポストというものもこの本で初めて知りました。バイオポストに関しては未熟な腐葉土や古い土がしっとりとした黒い土に変わり、いい土の匂いがしてくるのに驚きました。この本の内容を参考に色々な野菜作りに挑戦していますが、徐々にうまく野菜を育てられるようになってきているのが、楽しみな日々です。難点は具体的に病害虫の予防法や治療法が書いていないことです。

ベランダで、が主体なんですが、お庭を持ってらっしゃる方でも、気軽にできる敢えてコンテナで野菜が栽培したくなるような本です。一般的に育てやすい野菜ばかりですし、写真も丁寧・綺麗で、イラスト付き！楽しい調理方法まで載っていて、私の野菜作りのバイブルです。(^_^;)
