あまりに有名なこのシリーズ、セットものが出たことをきっかけに買ってみたのですが、届いて3日間で一気に読んでしまいました・・・。で、その後は「怖そうなお兄さんがなぜベンツを乗っているのか？」「中小企業の経営に不可欠な、生きるための資金繰りとは？」など、目からうろこが何枚も落ちました。

まだ読んだことが無い人は、このミョーにリアルな絵とストーリーに絶対引き込まれると思います。また、一度読んだことがある人でも、セットで一気に読むと、またハマリます。

ドラゴンボールとか、スラムダンクとかもそうですが、いい漫画って、どこから読んでも最後まで読ませるストーリーと迫力があるんです。このシリーズも間違いなく、そういう点でもお勧めです。

借金まみれの日陰者たちが多く登場するが、
偽善的でもなく、ふてくされるでもなく、ありのままに描いてあって、本当に誠実な漫画。

作者の青木雄二さんは、40代半ばでデビューした。
会社をたたんだ時の借金を返しながら、地道に漫画を描いていたらしい。

畳の線が一本一本すべて手書き。
淡々としていて、表情のパターンが非常に少ない。
これぞ労働。

自分など本当に若造で、こういう漫画を描く大人がいると思うと、
少しくらい辛くてもがんばろうと思えてくる。
星5つでは足りない。

自己責任という言葉が、世の中にだいぶ浸透してきたように思えるが、このコミックでその意味を十分すぎるほど、教えられた。お金に関する知識が、あるかないかで人生が大きく変わってしまうことがある。社会に出る前に知っておいたほうがよい。
また、高校・大学で教材として使ってほしい。
