社会人になると言い訳は出来ない。
それは、どんな場合においてもだ。
ただし、自分自身に対する（口には出さないが）ポジティブな言い訳はＯＫ。
これは次回失敗しないように重要である。

ドラゴン桜は４月から約１０ヶ月東大２次試験までを追うと思われます。しかし，マンガではこの１０ヶ月を２年以上かけて描いております。１年前でも夏休み前後のことをやっており，１年経ってもまだ１０月。しかし，この１０月は受験生にとっても同じ１０月。唯一リアルタイムでこのコミックを読むことができるのです。受験生でこの時期に１５巻を読めた諸君は幸運です。なぜなら受験生がこの時期に遭遇するであろう事に対して，適切なアドバイスを与えているからです。夏休みにかけて，夏休みに勉強した諸君は，夏休み終盤に受けた模試の結果が徐々に返ってきますが，予想外に伸びていずに落ち込みます。また，受験の不安からよく眠れない生徒もいます。さらにセンター試験の願書作成・提出という受験の第一歩が始まります。終わった模試について十分に見直しをしない。よく反省せずに漫然と学習を続けたり，模試を受け続ける諸君もいます。こうした１０月に直面するであろう問題を全て扱っているのは見事としか言えません。今年の受験生は１５巻が間に合って幸運です。残念ながら次の配本では，受験生が先を進み，ドラゴン桜のアドバイスを受けることはできません。
まさに彗星の地球接近のような出来事でした。

スランプに陥った直美に桜木が今までの勉強の全記録を見せて、写させるときに、“私…頑張った　頑張ってこんなにいっぱい勉強した”と泣き出したところは本当に涙ものでした。元気回復術や手帳のつけ方に安眠法など、常に不安との戦いである受験生にはもちろん、一般人にも大変役立つ本だと思いました。
