ピアノは勝ち負けじゃない。
頭ではわかっているけど、自分が負けていると感じている以上
勝つ方向に向かって頑張らなければ、この先に自分の成長は絶対にない。
カイに敵意剥き出しで勝負を挑むことは、修平にとって避けては通れない道だったのだ。
そのことを受け入れた修平は見違えるほど強くなった。

個人的な見解だけど、多分修平はカイに「勝った」と思える称号を手にして、
そこから見える景色にある期待をしているんじゃないだろうか？
勝ち誇るのではなく、「ピアノへの純粋な愛」を自分が感じ取ることを。
それを手にしたとき、きっと修平はカイと本当の親友になれるんだろう。

全編通して作者の、修平に対する強い強い思い入れを感じるのは気のせいかな･･･？
自分が修平に感情移入し過ぎているだけかな。

素晴らしい作品です。

この作品の大ファンですが、これまでの巻と比べると最も「中だるみ」を感じたというか、

『天才であり環境にも恵まれた主人公に嫉妬や焦りを感じ、親友としての態度をくずしてしまう努力型のライバル』

という「よくある展開」になってしまったのが残念という印象です。
ここまでは嫉妬や焦りは感じながらも、そういった感情は抑えてカイとは大切な友人としての接し方をしてきた雨宮に好感を感じていたのですが…。

また、カイとの再会や父親のピアノに触れたことを経てスランプから脱した雨宮が、果たして以前と同じく「完璧に譜面をなぞる能力」を賞賛されているのか、それとも父親の癒しのピアノのように「もう一度聴きたくなるピアノ」としての何かを手に入れて周囲から評価されているのかがあまりよく分かりませんでした。

もっとも、コンクールが始まったばかりなので、そういった部分の解明も含めて今後の展開で盛り上がりを見せてくれることは間違いないと思っています。
次巻以降に更なる期待を込めて、この巻の評価は辛めにしておきます。

　舞台をショパン・コンクールに移してカイと雨宮がいよいよ対決する。お互いを至上のライバルと認め合う二人。「天才」と「努力」という、相対する二つの才能が激しくぶつかりある。

　それにしても作者の心理描写はうまいと思う。雨宮の心の葛藤が手にとるようにわかる。個人的には雨宮の肩を持ちたいが。

　１３巻が本当に待ちどおしい、そんな気にさせてくれる好著。
