　第６巻までに数学、英語、国語、社会を短時間で制覇し、第７巻では理科の攻略法をテーマにしています。教えてくれるのは、いかにもアインシュタインをモデルにした「阿院修太郎」という教師。他にも国語の先生が「芥川龍三郎」だったりして、教師の名前はコテコテです。
　阿院先生は、マップツリーという図で印象的に覚えるのが効果的、と秘蔵のノウハウを披露してくれました。

　印象的だったのは職員会議の議論です。今回のテーマは生徒の進路指導。
　キメ細かく生徒たちの相談に乗る体制を作り“夢プロジェクト”を立ち上げたらどうか、という若い教師の提案を、「めんどくせえんだよ」と一蹴する桜木。真剣な提案を受け入れない理由は何か、と若い教師は迫ります。（マンガなので「議論」がすぐに「激論」に発展します）

　桜木は一つの例をあげます。
　Ａ大学を目指していた生徒が、それより難易度の低いＢ大学を受験したい、と相談してきたらどうするんだ、と。
　「まずは理由を聞く」という若い教師ですが、理由がはっきりしているなら相談に来ません。
　「自分の進路だから思った通りＢ大学でいい、と答える」という対処案も、「Ｂで良いかどうか不安だから相談しているのだから、肯定されれば相談はそこで終わり。教師は何もわかってくれない、と不満が残る」とＮＧ。
　「君なら頑張ればＡ大学に合格する」と励ますのもダメ。生徒は「もっと頑張れと言われても……。もう頑張れないから相談しているのに……」と考えてしまいます。
　その他、脅迫型、非難型、否定型、ごまかし型、命令型、忠告型など全部で９パターンを挙げ、すべてダメ、と桜木は言います。

　正解は……、コーチングを応用した対応でした。ヘルプではなくサポートする技術、それがコーチング、とのこと。（詳しく知りたい人は、この本かコーチングの本を参照して下さいねー）

コーチング理論は子供の教育にも応用が利くだろう。
子育ての本を読むよりも効果的かも。
また、メモリーツリーも、大人より、子供に書かせたほうが、
（子供といっても、中学受験するような）大人よりも、いい物を書くだろうし、
慣れるのも早いのではないかな。
子供が適当な年齢になったらぜひ読ませたい。

　この巻での『一押し』は、理科教師の阿院修太郎が
２人の特進クラス生徒に指導するノートのとり方です。

　本書では「メモリーツリー」方式と呼んでいますが、
イギリス人のトニー・ブザン氏が開発した（脳の思考
方法に沿って）絵や言葉でノートを取る方法である
「マインドマップ」の紹介なのでしょう。マインドマッ
プは一般に仕事術として勧められることが多いですが、
学習術としても大いに有効なことが力説されます。

　圧巻なのは、東大医学部生の授業ノートの実写（？）
です。在来どおり左上から右下に一行づつ文章にしたら
行数は想像もつきません。内容＆構造の広がりもふつう
に人間が把握できる許容範囲にあるとは思えません。が、
その分量を、一望のもとに収めてしまうこの記法の凄さを
余すところなく見せつけます。

　良い記述方法と優れた思考とは、確実に相互乗り入れ
するのでしょう。このノートコピーを見られただけでも
本書を購入した元手がとれたと思っています。
