BECKを読んでいろんなROCKに興味を持った人、
最近ROCKに興味を持ち始めた人に特に読んで
もらいたい。

今は膨大な新しいバンドや新しい音楽が提供される
時代なので、「今」を追いかけるので精一杯かも
しれないけど、その音楽が、どのような経緯で、
どのような時代背景から生まれてきたか、
それを知るのも素晴らしいことです。自分の
好きなバンドのルーツがどこにあるのかを知ることとか。

いくつかそういう本を読んだことがあり、あれこれ
おべんきょしたので、この本の記述の半分強は知ってる
ことだったり、ある時期以降は実体験として知ってたり
する。そういう私が見ても、特定ジャンルに偏らず
バランスの取れたいい教科書に仕上がっています。

もちろんBECKファンであれば、何倍も楽しめます。
聴く音楽の幅を広げるためにもどうぞ。
って、あぁ、またほしいＣＤが膨大に。。。

ＮＩＮのダウンワードスパイラルは一位を取っていませんし、
クリムゾンはビートルズを蹴落としてません、5位です。
他何箇所か突っ込む所がビートルズがライブ休止など、
一側面だけしか捉えてませんのでこれだけを鵜呑みにすると
間違った解釈をすることになります、最後の本はちゃんとしてね。

‘BECK’という音楽漫画に登場する数々のアーティストが紹介されています。
ビートルズからコールドプレイまでさまざまなアーティスト、音楽の歴史などが写真や関連CDなどと共に紹介されていて「音楽の教科書・入門編」といった感じです。

漫画のガイドブックといえば普通はキャラのプロフィールや書き下ろし漫画とかを思い浮かべる方も多いと思うのですがこの本はそういったことはほとんど記されてません。

ただし音楽の成り立ち、アーティストのエピソードなど漫画の中でちょこちょこ出ていることや人ばかりなので音楽についての考えが深くなるとともにBECKという漫画を読む上でもより楽しめるようになると思います。

アーティストと共にすごくたくさんのCDが紹介されていて音楽が聴きたくなる一冊です。

筆者様のあとがきの言葉を借りるなら
「自分にとって大切な音楽」を見つけるのに参考になりそうな本ですよ。
