ついに来ましたか。
「すごいけど、こんなのよっぽど先の話だよ。」などと言っていた子供のころを思い出します。
ふと気が付くと、こんなことが実現出来そうな世の中になっていたりします。
自分の作ったキットをシミュレーションマシンに読み込ませ、パイロットになったイメージで
モデラー同士が対戦する、といった内容です。
丁寧に、カッコ良く（特に可動、間接部分を動くように）製作したキットほど強いというような内容でした。
子供ながらに、この手のホビーに関する漫画は、「理解しがたい謎の財力」が注ぎ込まれている部分で「ありえねぇ。」でしたが、模型店の２階にある巨大なシミュレーションマシーン等が登場したり、その部分も含めて夢のある話だと思います。
個人的には生まれてはじめて「シミュレーション」という言葉に触れた漫画でもありました。
「シュミレーション」ではないところがポイントです。ファミコン等のＴＶゲームのジャンルで、「シミュレーションゲーム」という言葉が出始めたころ、それより何年も先にこの漫画で
語意の情報を得ていたので、チョットだけ優越感を感じたことも。
プラモ製作のモチベーションが落ちている時に読みたくなります。
ガンプラに限らず、手を付けていないキットがたくさんあって困っている方、読んでみてはいかが？

「ボンボン」連載作品中、唯一の名作。って言うかこれ以外は全然記憶に残っていない。
当時のガンダムとプラモブームに上手く乗ってヒットしたという印象だが、自分で作ったプラモを操って仮想現実の世界で戦うという設定は現在でも魅力的な設定だ。

それにしてもプラモシュミレーションは現在でも実現は不可能だろう。
それを考えると作中で「町の一プラモ屋のオヤジさん」が開発したって・・・・凄すぎだよ(笑)。
そっちの技術力で儲けたほうがいいんじゃ・・。

昔、雑な造りだったプラモを改造する意味、
そしてコスプレのルーツがここにある？
