木村 真二
1962年、埼玉県出身。19歳で小林プロダクション入社。劇場用アニメーション『コブラ』が最初の仕事。『うる星やつら2』『天子のたまご』で背景、『ヴィナス戦記』で美術担当。10年の勤務を経て退社し、フリー。『とつぜん!猫の国 バニパルウィット』(’95年制作)で美術監督を務める(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

アニメ映画「スチーム・ボーイ」の背景＆イメージﾎﾞｰﾄﾞ美術集。
美術監督さんのコメントを織り交ぜながら、さらりと凄い背景や世界観のイメージボードが、この一冊にぎっしり詰め込まれています！
（こんな凄いものをさりげなく小さく載せなくても！みたいなレベルの背景イラストがばしばし詰め込まれています。）
のどかな風景からメカニカルな背景まで、一冊で色々と楽しめます！
美術（特に風景画）に興味ある人にも本当にオススメ！

やはりこの映画の魅力は世界感だろう。本書はそれを十分に伝えてると感じる。AKIRA的な感じを期待しているファンも多いがこの作品はそれを考えちゃ楽しめない。大友さんのネクストステージということで。過去のイメージも大好きだが、この作品でも映像としてやりたいことがはっきりと受け止められたから。今後を期待するが、ある意味期待を裏切ってほしい。
