渾身の作戦だったが、まんまと見抜かれてしまい、逆に追い詰められるカイジ。
しかも、性格最悪の社長が、土壇場でとんでもない技術を披露する。
読者には両者の手が見えているため、意外性はないにもかかわらず、ヒリヒリとした土壇場、ギリギリの緊張感が伝わってくる。
両者の手をさらしても、なお白熱した心理戦を面白く描くことのできる福本さんの技術に感服する。
進行が遅いから、このシリーズも１３巻で完結か!?

このシリーズは、展開が全く同じというか、同じ部屋で延々と１７歩をやってるだけで、
しかも１局がおそろしく長い。。。１３巻まで引っ張るために展開を遅くしたのか？
ここまで引っ張られると楽しみを通り越してイライラしてくる。。

本巻はカイジと村岡社長の決死の8000万勝負が辛くも終了し倍額1億6000万勝負が幕を開けます。見所は個人的にカイジの8000万勝負での最後の打牌です。今回は個人的に好きな麻雀が種目のギャンブルとなっているのでわくわくしながら読んでますが相変わらず心理描写の多さでなかなか話が進まない展開にはじれったさを感じざるを得ません。並行してヤンマガでも読んでますが今回の堕天録は以前の黙示録、破戒録と違って全13巻ではまとまらないのではないかという気がしてなりません。
