この漫画は非常に多くの参考文献や検証・考証を基に書かれている。だからリアリティな漫画だと思われがちであるが、さにあらず。実は、リアリティに対してくそくらえ！と新しい手法で反逆を叫んでいる漫画だ。
つまり、いろいろな資料を並べて、読者に「つまり、こういうことはありえないんだよ」「本当はこんなことできないんだよ」と刷り込んでおいて、次の瞬間にはそれをわざとぶち壊しているのである。理由は「主人公の権兵衛が『馬鹿』だから」
そのぶち壊し具合は痛快である。
リアリティなだけな漫画なら山ほどある。時代考証に忠実な漫画も山ほどある。だが、リアリティを分かった上で確信犯的にぶち壊せる漫画はそうはない。

最初から漫画だから、とかエンターテイメントだから、なんて考えずに、このマジックに騙されることを堪能してもらいたい。「センゴク」はそんな漫画である。

「常識を覆すリアル戦国」みたいなキャッチフレーズだったと思うが、
主人公に仙石秀久なんてマイナーな武将を起用してるところからして、
なるほど、確かに歴史物の常識を覆しているよなぁと思わずプッと笑ってしまった。
他にも、大概の歴史物なら名前だけの登場で終わりそうなマイナー武将の活躍のオンパレード。
通説として教科書で習ってきた合戦も、独自の解釈で語られている。
大いに誇張を感じる描写だけれども、そこは漫画、いいんじゃないでしょうか。

それに、ただ奇策を弄しているだけじゃないと思えるのが感心するところ。
独自の解釈を展開するにあたり、現地取材を敢行するなど、その背景が感じ取れるから。
なるほど、そういう考えもあるのかと新たな切り口を垣間見れて面白い。

面長な絵柄がちょいと苦手だけど、作者の思いが入り込んでいるようなタッチなので良しとする。
味があっていいと思えるレベルですよ。

今まで信長とか秀吉とかに興味はなく、この本の主人公である仙石権兵衛などまったく知らなかった自分がハマッてしまいました。
馬に乗ったままでの戦闘は難しいことや、武器は弓が一番強いなど戦闘シーンはリアル＋登場人物達にも魅力があります。
歴史と聞いただけで敬遠されてる方もこの作品の迫力に触れてみてはいかがでしょうか？
