著者について

■水野英子（みずのひでこ）
山口県、下関市出身。手塚治虫先生の大ファンとなり、小学3年生より漫画を描きはじめる。
1955年、雑誌「少女クラブ」8月号にカット2点、1コマ漫画1点でデビュー。翌年より西部劇「赤っ毛小馬（ポニー）」など本格的な作品の掲載が始まる。4月初め上京、手塚先生にお会いして大感激。1956年3月~10月まで、漫画家アパート“トキワ荘”に入居。石ノ森章太郎・赤塚不二夫両氏と、3人で合作の仕事をする。ペンネーム“U・マイア”。
代表作『銀の花びら』『星のたてごと』『白いトロイカ』『ハニー・ハニーのすてきな冒険』『ファイヤー！』（第15回小学館漫画賞受賞）など。さそり座。B型。

原作はずっと以前に読んでいて、コミック編を見つけて読みました。
このような伝記もので、コミックが出るのは大歓迎でしたね。

コミックの場合大切なのが絵柄ですが、
大変失礼ながら、絵柄から作者ご本人のお歳を感じました。

女性も男性も髪の色や髪型が違うなどの違いがなければ、
ほとんどキャラクター同士の違いが分かりません。
特に女性は髪をセットアップすると見分けがつきにくかったりしました。

母親のシュテファニー皇太子妃の個性をもう少し感じたかったです。
背景の絵などは大変キレイで素晴らしいです。
エリザベートの幼少期の老皇帝との描写は暖かくて印象的でした。
