渋いです。
坂道に対してのコメントが本当に面白い。
毎日寝る前に１坂ずつ読んでます。
ガイドもついてるし、本当においしい本ですよ。

まえがき＆あとがきも愉快です。哲学だぁ~

日本坂道学会副会長が東京都内の名坂の良さを知ってもらうために一般人向けに書いた入門書である。本書は都内にある名坂を著者自ら撮影した写真と解説で紹介していく。散歩ルートもきちんと載っており、著者の辿りを我々も追体験できるようになっている。これを巷に溢れるいわゆる芸能人本の類と先入観を持ち誤読してはいけない。写真をみるに著者はこれら数多の名坂を日の長い夏の天気のよい早朝にとっていると思われる。凛とした静けさ、青く茂る草木、透き通る空の青、そして主人公である坂が主に広角レンズで捕らえた一枚の写真の中にすんなりと収まっている。その写真の腕は玄人はだしの域に達している。三分坂、狸穴坂、桜坂、富士見坂の写真など、それはもう見事なものである。坂にまつわる歴史の解説はまさに白眉。著者のフィールドワークと研究の賜物。名著。

実は私も、といっても、有名人ではないが、坂道愛好者である。２０年来、友人と散策と称して、街を歩く事を楽しみの１つにしている。タモリ（編集部）曰く、坂道の美しさは都会にあって、適度にうねりがあり、江戸風情があり、名前に由来があること。東京を中心に都会の隠れた（といっても道が自ら隠れていた訳ではないが）坂道を似合わないほど美しい写真で紹介している。坂道は自分で見つけて楽しむものに思え、この本をガイドブックにして持ち歩きたいとは思わないが、同じ愛好家がいて嬉しい。田舎の郊外にまっすぐな坂道が延々と続くと徳川家康の格言のように、気が重くなるが、都会の坂道の少し曲がったあたりに好みのお店があったりすれば言うことない。
