本書は2002年10月~2003年3月にかけてフジテレビで深夜に放送されたバラエティ番組『トリビアの泉』を書物としてまとめたものである。

『トリビアの泉』とは、視聴者から投稿された、人生にまったく必要のない無駄な知識（＝トリビア）を品評する場である。無駄な知識で感動できる喜び、すぐにでも他人に広めたくなるような知識を、出演者と視聴者が共有することを目的としている。生きていくうえでは役に立たないが、その知識を身につけることにより妙な満足感が味わえる。そしてなぜかウキウキする。そんな番組である。

結構、テレビで観て、存分に楽しんだ後って
内容忘れちゃいませんか！

この本があれば、あとから、そう言えば！と
思い出すきっかけになります。

そういう意味では、私にとっては、貴重な「まめ単」です！

ところで
今まで、なんでこのような内容のものがなかったのだろうか？
皆さん、そう思いませんでしたか！

ゴールデンになって、内容も充実したように思います。

このように視聴者とともに楽な気持ちで楽しめる
また、身近で当然と思っていることにも
そんな背景があったんだぁ！とサプライズがある
このような内容を待っていました！

最近、このように単純だけれども楽しめる内容のものが
少なくなってきており
皆さんで楽しみましょう！

　知らなくても良いことだけど、知っているとちょっとした物知り気分を味わえるムダ知識「トリビア」。そんなトリビアを紹介する番組「トリビアの泉」が７月から水曜９時放送されています。

　その番組で紹介された「トリビア」をそのまま一冊の本にしてまとめたのが本書。読んでみると、そのトリビアが番組で「何へぇ」獲得したか、またそのトリビアに関する補足なども説明されていて、なかなか面白い内容になっています。

　ただ、テレビで紹介された以上の情報が付加されているわけではなく、ひとつひとつのトリビアを簡単に説明しただけの内容なので、買って読むほどの価値があるかどうかは疑問です。好きな人以外は、本屋さんでサラッと立ち読みするぐらいで充分でしょう。

テレビ番組は欠かさずとは言わないまでも
見ています。とっても面白い。
で、本も見てみました。あんまり新鮮味がなかった・・

番組の集大成に過ぎず、がっかり。
3年後にもう一回読み返すかな？という感じでした。

ぼつになったネタとか、番組以外の情報がほしかった。
