アニメ絵の印象の方が先にあるので、この単行本の表紙イラストはちょっと恐かったのですが、中身はもうちょっとソフトでした。しかし、コゼットの持つ耽美さ、不気味さはむしろこちらの漫画の方が絵的より強力に描いているように思います。

漫画にしてはややセリフ部分が少ないように思います。静かに絵で状況を描いているという感じです。そのため、絵をさらっと読み流しているとあっという間に読み終わってしまいます。

ヴェルディの「レクイエム」の訳詞が挿入されてますが、単純に一ページにでんっと載せるよりも、もうちょっと迫力のある効果的な使い方ができたのではないかと思います。そもそもゴシック小説は詩の挿入が大きな特徴の一つですし、そのくらいゴシックというものの性質を利用してもよいのではないかと思います。

読後の充実感という点であと一歩。でも、こういう作品大好きですし、今後のストーリー展開には期待してます。

ＯＶＡに登場するカットグラスはこの漫画版には出てこない。
メインとなるコゼットの出現もどことなく違い、
ＯＶＡでのコゼットの残酷さと美しさは半減しているように思う。
コゼットは主人公に対して罪悪感を露にしているなどかなり普通の少女と化し、妖艶さは欠けている。
運命を押し付けるはずのコゼットが、主人公に謝っているのもコゼットとしては違和感を禁じえない。
器物達の呪い様が映像に比べ軽すぎて、思わず拍子抜けしてしまう。
また主人公もかなり現代風になっている。
漫画として完結させるならばクオリティも十分だとは思うが、
ＯＶＡから期待して購入すると少々後悔するかもしれない。

そして厚さと値段がつりあっていないのが気になる。
