三国志演義を題材とし、退廃した政治と賊軍黄布軍の席捲する争乱期。
義勇軍に大志を抱くでもなく何の気なしに志願した青年張飛と、その義勇軍の長劉備がメインに据えられます。

話の展開は、命を落としかけた張飛が（正確な表現ではないですが）「死神」と共生することで一命を取り留めるものの、

その後戦場で人の死に直面したことを契機に死神に身体を乗っ取られてしまい、敵将を討ち取り敵軍を撤退に追いやるが･･･。
また、その活躍と背景に死神がることを察知した劉備は･･･。
といったものです。

展開としては面白いのですが、作者の云わんとするテーマの様なものがまだ見えてきませんので、

戦国活劇の純粋なエンターテインメント作品といった色合いが強いです。

作中の殺陣に関しては、15-R指定映画並かそれ以上にグロテスクな表現が多く、
一騎vs数百~数千の兵といった図式で成立しているパワーバランスが無茶苦茶・理屈無視なシーンがいくつかありますので、
そのどちらかに抵抗・不満を覚える方にはオススメ出来かねます。

個人的な全体としての評価は中の上という所です。

今まで、新撰組の沖田総司や、源義経が女性として描かれている作品は見てきましたが、この作品ではなんとあの人物が女性となっています。それがもうカワイイのです！三国志好きでなおかつ、カワイイ女の子好きの方、購入してみてはいかがでしょうか（笑）
ちなみに、純粋に三国志だけが好きな方は少しおすすめしにくいかもしれません。よって星４つとさせてもらいました。
