17巻から18巻にかけて、スピードが増す。
この巻は特に作者のメッセージが凝縮されている。

至極卑劣な信じられないような狂気じみた行動をしてしまう子達も、本当は弱いひとりの人間。
どんな立場にいても、お互いに傷を持ちながらも「死ぬ」ことは誰の解決にもならない。
「生きていかなきゃいけないんだ」
歩のことばは私たちの心にも強く響く。

ライフは読むなら展開のスピードを落とさないためにも、「まとめ読み」をすることをオススメする。しかし単行本で買って集めるには一冊の中身が薄い気がするので、中古か満喫で読むのが妥当。

皆さん仰るとおり、私も５分と立たずに読み終わることができました。

ストーリーに台詞や文章による状況説明が一切なく、
絵で状況を克明に表現しているので緊張感や心境などは伝わってきます。

そのことから知りたいがために先を急ぎたくなるので読み終わるまでが異常に早いです。

先に書きましたように状況を大きく描いていたり数秒のことを何ページにも渡って
描かれているのでまるで映画のシーンをそのままマンガにしたような感じがします。

そのためストーリーの進展が少なく、キャラの心情を表す顔アップが多くなったりと
先が気になる読者にとっては「もういいって」とストレスが溜まるかもしれないです。

１７巻のレビューにも書きましたが、完結してから読んだ方が映画を観た後のような
すっきりした感じを味わえるかもしれません。

ストーリーや絵柄が好きですが、ちょっと引き伸ばしすぎ感があったので☆ひとつマイナスしました。

この巻では遂に愛海と歩の闘いに終止符が打たれます。 愛海の怒りは狂気へと変化し、歩を包丁で殺そうと襲い掛かります。佐古の部屋で歩を追い詰めた愛海が見たのは、佐古の卑劣なアルバム。そこへ偶然佐古本人が帰ってきます。そこで愛海は佐古から今までの本当の気持ちを知り、自分には最初から何もなかったことを思い知らされることになります。事実を知った愛海は逆上し、佐古を切り付け、自殺行為に走ります。

そこで歩と愛海は希望の星を見つけるんですが、今まであんなに傲慢だった愛海がこんな簡単に気持ちが変わるものなのか、と余りにあっけない終わり方でした。正直、今まで何の為にやり合ってたの?って感じで。最後の最後で羽鳥さんと薗田君のアップがバーンと。画面いっぱいに愛海と歩の姿が映し出されます。が、台詞ないし紙の無駄って感じ;なんか感動を誘ってるんだろうけど、ちょっとすべってる感があります。なんかドラマと一緒で泣いて終わり、みたいな。ちょっとあっけなかったです。

次巻で多分最終巻になると思います。次巻では、先生が、友達が、親が、そして歩達が本当の希望を見付けることになるだろうと思います。最高の最終回になることを期待しています。
