1974年10月3日、香川県生まれ。1996年、『爆弾とワタシ』が第34回ちばてつや賞佳作を受賞。同年、『ノイズ・キャンセラー』でデビュー。単行本は『プラスチック解体高校』全2巻、『極東学園天国』全4巻がある。

自称学校フェチの日本橋ヨヲコさんが描く、学校を主に舞台とした初期作品集。しかしやはり描かれていることは、単に舞台が学校と言うだけで、普遍的な、誰もが誰かに言って欲しかった言葉をすっと投げ掛けてくれる日本橋さんのメッセージは、世代を超える共感を呼び、力強い。

8つの短編を収録。中の3つはシリーズっぽい関連作になっています。デビュー作『ノイズ・キャンセラー』から新作（書き下ろし）の『CORE＜コア＞』も収録。特に『CORE＜コア＞』は、シンプルで力強い線で描かれていて、極力少ない背景も相俟って、日本橋さんのメッセージが1番色濃く浮き彫りにされているような気がします。

前向きな暴走・疾走感が、『青い春』にまさにマッチした、バシズム満載の短編集です。

生きていると、色々と悩む。
何のために生きてるのか、とか。
でも、そう言う言葉を口に出すと、たちまち周囲に引かれてしまう。
そんなときに、この一冊。
結局、答えは自分で見つけるしかない。
でも、見つけられないからといって、悲観しなくていい。
そのままでいい。でも気に入らないなら、変えたほうがいい。

立ち止まってもいい。でも走れるなら、走ったほうがいい。
だからといって、あまり無理はするな。
そう言ってくれるような作品がつまっています。
個人的には最後の「花」が一番好きです。

世の中が整然と感情を整理して、無機質に動いてるとか。
そして自分さえもその中に無難にとけ込んでしまっているとか。
不器用だけど、その現状や動かぬ一歩にいらだち感じ震えている。
もし自分がそんな一人なら、迷わず手にとるべき本だと思います。
感情をぶつけるための、形にするための冷静。
あるいは冷たく重い現実に、自分の熱を通すための感情。

うまくいえないそんなもの達が、この本の中にあります。
涙は悔しい。だけど恥じない。
そんな突き抜けそうな素直さと血の濃さが、まんま形になったような本です。
