吉田戦車のエッセイや漫画を読んだ事がある人や彼のﾌｧﾝなら、この漫画や文を考えた人はいったいどんな人間なのだろうか？と興味を持つのでは無いだろうか？この「吉田自転車」は吉田戦車本人が、彼の愛自転車で色々な所に行って、様々な物を見、食べ、思う、楽しいエッセイ本なのである。作者のことがほんの少しわかって面白いぞ！

外国人の子供に"Nice bike!"と言われたから「ナイス・バイク号」と名付けられた欠陥自転車（！？）で、吉田戦車が走る！
この著書の良さは、何と言っても「ほのぼの」感。
別に自転車によって劇的な出会いをするでもなし、肉離れをしながらの感動サイクリングがあるでもなし、ちょっと用事があったり、ネタを見つけるために主にご近所を走るだけという平凡さ。
ここに、吉田戦車の漫画に共通する部分が感じられます。
何か大きな出来事やギャグがあるというわけではなく、ジワジワと面白さが滲み出てきます。
自転車で走るだけでなく、ナイス・バイク号を修理に出すエピソードや競輪を見に行くエピソードなど、自転車に関することいろいろやってます。

自転車の手軽さ・楽しさ・苦しさを垣間見ました。

ナイスバイク号、イカす名前の自転車でソバ屋へ出かける吉田戦車の日常が楽しめる１冊。吉田戦車ふぁんに限らず、私のような自転車ふぁんにもどこの自転車なんだ？という疑問は残りつつ、一気に読んでしまえるさわやかなエッセーです。私の場合、岡本太郎美術館のおみやげは、太郎の夢という名のクッキーです。
