やっと待ちどうしかった５巻が発売しました。第二次大戦中に、タイムスリップした護衛艦「みらい」を取り巻く壮絶なドラマ！素晴らしいです。いつも話にのめり込んじゃいます！６巻の発売がまちどうしいです。

私は、いかわぐちかいじ氏は、石原莞爾に非常に関心が有るのではないかと思った事が有る。それは、氏の『沈黙の艦隊』において、海江田艦長が、ソ連潜水艦の艦長に向かって、水中電話を使って語り掛ける場面で、海江田が、「人類の核兵器による戦争は終結したのだ。１９４５年８月、日本に核兵器が投下された瞬間に！」と言ふ場面を読んだ時、この言葉が、石原莞爾の『世界最終戦争論』の考察に酷似して居ると思ったからである。『ジパング』のこの第５巻には、その石原莞爾が登場する。石原莞爾は、満蒙領有計画の策定者であり、満州国建国の立役者の一人であったが、同時に、その問題の著書『世界最終戦争論』において、人類社会から、戦争が消滅すると予言した人物でもあった。石原のこうした歴史哲学は、この第５巻でも簡単に触れられて居る。（１０８〜１１０ページ参照）だが、残念なのは、折角、石原莞爾を登場させながら、石原莞爾のこの面が、それ以上取り上げられて居ない事である。６０年後の世界から来た日本人と対面した石原莞爾が、「世界から戦争は消滅したか？」と問ひ正す場面が有ったら、この作品（『ジパング』）は、もっと深い作品に成ったのではないだろうか。かわぐち氏のファンとしては、それが残念である。

草加少佐が辻政信に向かって、この戦争の引き金を引いた張本人に会わねばならないといって会ったのが石原莞爾。著者は大東亜戦争を満州事変からの延長と考えているのだろうか？しかし引き金を引いた張本人という表現なら東条英機だろう。なぜなら満州事変から大東亜戦争開始までの間に戦争の拡大を防ぐ機会は何度もあったし、石原自身日華事変の拡大を止める側に回っているし、日米開戦に反対を唱えていた。

山本五十六長官から「みらい」の母港の必要性を指摘され、「みらい」は横須賀に向かうことになる。ストーリーは５巻まで来ながら未だ本格的な戦闘シーンはないが、米軍の動きも活発化して米軍機４０機編隊が「みらい」を襲おうとする。
