　現代の海上自衛隊のイージス艦が時空を飛び太平洋戦争中のミッドウェーに紛れ込むという設定から，荒唐無稽な話を想像してしまっていました。しかし，酷い矛盾やご都合主義のストーリーは極力排除されていて，読み物として興味深いものとなっていると思います。
　もう少し早く読んでおけばよかったと思いました。

この本で描かれているのはただの戦争という場ではないと思う。現在の日本が抱えている国防上の矛盾である「専守防衛」という相手の攻撃が着弾するまで、反撃のための行動すらできないという思想を持った「みらい」と世界の常識が激しくぶつかるところに本来のこの作品の意味があると思う。ここから日本の世界との矛盾が見えてくるような気がする。とくに自衛隊派遣をめぐる国会の議論を見ていると感じることである。

どんな話ですか?と聞かれたら「戦国自衛隊」や「紺碧の艦隊」み
たいな現代の武器及び人が、過去にタイムスリップしたらどうな
るでしょう的な話です。ただし、骨格だけです。

違う点は、やはり作者があの沈黙の艦隊の「かわぐちかいじ」
さんという物語る人であるという点でしょう。『イーグル』で

アメリカの権力がどう形成されるかを描き、『沈黙の艦隊』で
世界の軍事をどうひっくり返すかをマジで考えた人からみた
あの第二次世界大戦が、どうだったのか？をうまく描いてくれ
ると思います。

見るべき点は、

こういう戦争の現場を描いた作品を読むと、「専守防衛｣という
言葉の空疎さ、過酷さが、ものすごく響きますね。目の前で機関銃

を構えられても、相手が撃ってくるまで撃てないのですから。
はっきいうと、『死ね』という意味ですもんね。

それに、歴史にifはないのですが、少なくとも「みらい」という
歴史改変の駒が与えられたとき、『その同時代にいたリーダー達』が
どういった思考をしていたのか、というのは、すごく面白いです。

個人的には、『日本人は植民地を経営するには幼すぎる。３００万人
が死んでもアメリカに負けるほうが正しいんだ！。これが国家百年の
未来の日本のための戦略だ」と言い切ったセリフですね。これは
すげーリーダーのセリフだなぁってしびれました。

僕は、草加少佐のワクワクした笑みが、わすれられないですね。

なんかデモーニッシュな魅力に満ちていて。。。
