元建設相加治元春の次男で一流商社に勤める加治隆介が父と兄の事故死を契機に政治の道へと歩み出す。「人類の幸福」こそが政治家の取り組むべき最大の命題であると熱い意志を持つ男、加治隆介による本格政治漫画第１巻。地元の利益より国益、国益より世界規模での人益を尊重する公明正大な政治家を目指す加治隆介の生き様は読む者に感動を与え、理想の政治家像、理想の人物像を示してくれます。世の中の政治家が加治隆介のような人物ばかりであればきっとすばらしい世の中になるのではないかと思います。また、政治の勉強にもなるので、日頃政治に関心のない方に是非おすすめしたい作品です。

政治家と言えば『マイナスイメージ』が強いものですが、この漫画にはヒーローと呼ぶにふさわしい国会議員が描かれています。
多くの国会議員が理想と現実のギャップで苦悩するなか、架空の政治家・加治隆介は強い信念で理想を貫き通す。
この誠実さには、大変尊敬し、妬ましいぐらいです。

マスコミから入ってくる情報が、金権・汚職がらみのものだけ、というのがそもそも怪しいのです。きっと、不況の責任、いや、不況に限らず全ての社会問題の責任を、政治家に押し付けようとしてるのかもしれません。

これを描いた『弘兼 憲史 先生』を信じ、本当の政治家を覗いてみませんか？

主人公の加治は、東大法学部を卒業し、一流商社・丸講物産の食料品本部農産部に所属するエリートサラリーマン。あっという間に課長まで登りつめ、出世街道まっしぐら。女癖の悪さは島耕作ばりで、部下と不倫をしている。
父親は、元建設大臣の大物政治家だが、「父親と自分とは関係ない」と言って政治に興味を示さない。
しかしある日、父親と後継ぎの長男が事故に遭い、...
島耕作が政治家だったら...という夢みたいな設定を実現させてくれた漫画。ただし主人公は、島とは違い、裕福な家庭の超エリート。２世という設定にリアリティを感じる。政治家のあるべき姿について考えるなら、きっとこの漫画がその一助になるだろう。
