第192話『天才柳沢教授がおじゃまするペンギン生活』前後編は、かなりストレートど真ん中に来ました。
82頁目にアップで登場するペンギンと私の目が合い、心をわしずかみにされました。教授が持つ極寒で闘争するペンギンのイメージに見ほれてしまう。
山下さんのイラストも壮麗で、ホーと魅せられます。
それにしても、コガタペンギンのエリザベス、目つきが悪いけど可愛いすぎ!!
長崎ペンギン水族館が舞台ですが、年をとって目があまり見えない30歳になるペンギンに、係の人が口元まで餌を運んでいるシーンを読んで、最近水族館にいったのを思い出しました。時間が来ると、バケツに魚を入れた係員が現れて、バケツから一斉に魚を投げるのですが、年を取って動きの鈍いペンギンが餌を食べようとした時、若いのに素早く奪われるところを観察し、ああって弱肉強食を感じたものです。

他の読み切りも、もちろん良いです。
第190話は、歴史を通じて研究に携わる人はもとい、芸術に携わる人にもある試練がえがかれており、シビアな現実を短い頁で表現されてます。
第191話は、微笑ましくて和みました。猫に疑似体感した錯覚にも陥るシーンが見事。他2話も絶品です。

これこそ漫画の面白味です。

山下和美、恐るべき才能の27巻目。第1話は、さながら昨年のノーベル賞複数受賞の日本人の陰を描くようだ。黒猫に変身する教授の1日の奇想天外、長崎ペンギン水族館（ああ、憧れの！）探訪紀は教授にかかっては単なる観光ものに終らず、老齢なタクシー運転手との対話では最後の1ページの美しい「結論」に唖然とし、柳沢兄弟の久々の邂逅に頬が緩む

柳沢教授ご本人を除けばどの話も静かな日常なのに、柳沢教授が足を踏み入れればそこに見事な華が咲く

「不思議な少年」と合わせて、全巻がいつまでも読んでいたい作品ばかり。ここまで駄作なしとは恐れ入ります。。。

柳沢教授は個性がありすぎなので、好む好まないの差があると思うから星は3つです。しかし、柳沢教授の世界観と美女が歳月をかけ、どこにでもいる小太りのおばさんになってしまった奥様とのチラッと見える夫婦愛や純粋に「疑問」を持つことの嬉しさを見つけることができる話が満載なので「少し大人になりかけた人から大人になってしまった人」が一度読むといい作品です。この巻では初めて柳沢教授の兄弟が出てきます。兄弟のエピソード「じわーん」ときましたよ。
