◆第183話「淑女への長い道」

　華子の初恋の話です。

　異性を好きになることで、はじめて理想と
　現実のギャップに直面させられる華子。


　華子にも、ついに幸福な幼年期の終わりが訪れたのかと
　少々寂しく思ったのですが、ラストで教授の教えを「忠実に」
　まもっている姿をみて、まだまだ淑女への道のりは遠い、と
　なんだかホッとさせられました。


◆第184話「愛と自由についての命題」

　教授の若かりし頃の秘められた恋の話。

　すでに妻子のあった教授と、
　裏の顔を持つ喫茶店のウエイトレス。

　決して結ばれることのなかった二人が、数十年ぶりに、
　かつて彼女が勤めていた喫茶店で再会することになります。


　長い年月の果てに、ゆっくりと静かに解け合う二人の想い


　人間にとって時は、往々にして残酷なものですが、
　ときに癒しと安らぎの恩寵をもたらしてもくれるのです。

「ほほえましい。」
自分を良く見せたくて背伸びをしたが、その見栄が相手を
傷付けてしまう。相手のことを思って、相手の理想を自分に
重ねて見栄を張るが、いつしか歯止めが効かなくなり、
相手を見失ってしまう。大なり小なり誰にでも起こりうる失敗です。
華子はこの失敗から何を学んだのでしょうか・・・

「ゆったりとした空気を描く。」
ヒトがヒトを好きになる。その当たり前の感情にフタをしてしまった教授。
教授もヒトの子かと親近感を覚えます。理屈抜きの好きという感情は
美しいと思う。理解することで受け入れることができる。受け入れたものの
大きさが器の大きさということでしょうか。
それにしても、女性の首筋をとても美しく書くなぁ・・・

「教授はヒトを救う。」
教授は同情しない。慰めたりしない。ただ、自分の経験に基づく
率直な感想、所感を述べるだけ。一見、無感情に見えるが、
その冷静な意見は、相手が感情でどうにもならないとき効果的。
鈴本教授は、柳沢教授に自分と同じ感情を見つけて、柳沢道の基に
自分と同じ人生があったと共感と安堵を感じたようです。
かく言う私も柳沢道にあこがれる一人です。

「事象の理由」
原因のない結果はない。おそらく教授は奇跡も信じないだろう。
その心情が教授の好奇心の根本となっています。
そのポリシーは徹底されている。根拠のないものは信じない。
理由、意図のわからないものは受け入れない。ヒトとヒトとの関係を
重んじるこの社会では、いろいろ衝突もあったろう・・・
だが、その好奇心から生まれる結果は理路整然と説得力を持つ。
そうして、理解したときの爽快感は私も大好きです。
