「斎宮」シリーズが終って、がっかりしていたところ、また、平安時代を舞台にした作品に出合えて、嬉しかった。「斎宮」とはだいぶ違うけど、やっぱりいいなあ。ファン必見ですよ。

歴史上、「悪左府」と異名をとる藤原頼長が実は女性で、父忠実にも秘密にして、男性として活躍するというストーリー。男装の姫君としては古典の物語では『とりかへばや』や『有明の別れ』が有名ですが、それをヒントにしたのではないかと思います。異母兄忠通、西行、平清盛といった、歴史上の人物が絡み、恋にゆれながらも、院政期に微妙な立場に追い込まれた摂関家の復権、あるべき政治の復活を図る頼長が描かれています。

院政期の歴史や物語に関心のある方にすすめます。
