　まず思ったのが高い……2500円（税別）って！　講談社BOX自体が高く、しかも本書は500ページ超と分厚いから仕方ないかもしれませんが。分厚いので書店ではすぐ見つけられると思います。
　とはいえtoi8さんのイラストは好きだし、ファウストで連載している奴を読んでて好きな雰囲気だったこともあったから購入。

　昭和20年、新型爆弾で東京が壊滅した世界。敗戦から十数年で東京はオリンピックの開催が決まるほど復興する。そんな東京を舞台に探偵の矢ノ浦小鳩にその助手の『博士』、巨大ロボットやサイボーグの女刑事といった個性的なキャラ達が、捜査したり国際的なギャングなどを相手に捕り物劇を行ったりする昭和37年からこの物語は始まります。

　読んでみて率直な感想は解説多っ！でした。小説、一つの話ごとに2〜3ページ小さな文字で解説されいています。昭和30年代当時に関するものがメイン。作品の主な舞台は昭和38年になるので、特にその頃のものが多い。マンガのところだとコマの端にも書かれています。正直、ここまで読みにくい作品とは思わなかったです。
　ですがそこまで綿密に描かれた虚構世界は濃厚で、『東京』という不思議な都市が浮かび上がります。理解しようとするのとは違う。一度はまってしまうと抜け出すことを忘れそうになり、随所に散りばめられたイラストが更にこの世界へいざないます。昭和30年代を生きた人に勧めて感想を聞いてみたいです。時間がある時、じっくりと腰をすえて読むのがいいでしょう。
　絵物語というだけあってカラーイラストが多いです。捲るたびに驚きと満足感が沸き起こります。しかしそれでもやはり値段が高いように思うので、星は一つ減らさせてもらいました……

さすが講談社BOX……といったところでしょうか。値段が高いです。
500ページで2625円ですか……やはり高すぎだと思います。

内容ですが、昭和20年に落とされた新型爆弾で東京が壊滅したと仮定した平行世界での話です。
そこで探偵や博士、ロボットやサイボーグ刑事や異能力者やギャング団などが活躍します。
無駄に解説が多く、全部に目を通すのはつらかったです。
また、絵や漫画の量が多かったので全体としての小説のボリュームはそう多くありません。
わたしはあまり満足できませんでした。
ゆずはらとしゆきさんやtoi8さんのファンなら買ってみてはどうでしょうか。

他の講談社boxシリーズに比べて本の厚さは二倍・・・。カラー挿し絵の他に漫画もたっぷり入ってこの値段かあ・・・。
うーん、人によって感じ方は様々だとは思うけど、せめてあと五百円安かったら星5つなんだけど・・・。
とはいえ、内容には満足です。他の方が仰っておりましたが、確かに注釈が凄く多いけれど、それは多分「読者にもう1つの東京を探検するような感覚で読んでもらいたい」という意図からではないでしょうか。ちなみにな僕は注釈読むのそんな気にかかりませんでしたよ。全部読む必要はないと思うし。
やはり値段の事が気にかかったので星は1つ減点・・。しかし凄くその他の内容は大満足です。
