井上 夢人
1950年生まれ。’82年、徳山諄一との共作筆名・岡嶋二人として『焦茶色のパステル』で第28回江戸川乱歩賞を受賞。’86年、日本推理作家協会賞、’89年、吉川英治文学新人賞受賞後、同年、『クラインの壺』刊行と同時にコンビを解消する。’92年、『ダレカガナカニイル…』でソロとして再デビュー(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

　著者が岡嶋二人から独立した頃から数年間にわたって書かれた10の短篇をまとめたもの。文庫オリジナルで、収録作品の初出は以下のとおり。

　巻末に、井上夢人と大沢在昌の特別対談を掲載。

　主人公にとってまるで悪夢のような出来事であるとか、疑心暗鬼にとらわれた主人公の不安をテーマにした話であるとか･･･。対談で大沢在昌も言っていたけど、どこに連れて行かれるのか分からない妙味がありましたね。ただ、執筆されてから10年以上経っていることもあり、正直、新鮮味はなかったなあ。岡嶋二人時代からのファンということもあり、著者にはもっとバンバン書いてほしいです。

　面白かった作品は、留守番電話をモチーフにした「さよならの転送」、パソコン通信が主要材料のひとつになっている「ジェイとアイとＪＩ」、このふたつ。前者は、伏線の大胆不敵な提示と、その生かし方がキマっていたこと。後者は、パソコン通信への郷愁と、２台のパソコンが会話するっていうＳＦ風の映像に惹かれたこと。そこに魅力を感じました。

　最後にもう一度、次の文章、ゴシック太文字で →→→ 井上夢人様。この次は新しい作品を書いて、どうか読ませてくださーい。

表題作を含む10編の短編集で，収録作はすべて90年代に発表されたものです．

『男と女』を扱った編が多く，サスペンスのようなゾッとする結末であったり，
ブラックな雰囲気の漂う，なんとも言えないあと味の悪さや切なさが印象的です．
また，コンピュータや珍しいアイテムの出てくる編などは星新一さんの作品に近く，
これら以外にも粒が揃っていて，笑えないと思いつつもついニヤリとしてしまいます．

ほかにも，各編の冒頭には執筆時のエピソードが現在の視点から添えられおり，
巻末のほうでは大沢在昌さんとの対談を収録．こちらも当時ことを振り返りつつ，
お互いの作品評や小説観，作品の生み出し方などが語られているのが興味深いです．

表紙の奇妙な絵に魅せられて購入。内容的にヒヤヒヤとしながらもさらさらとページをめくらせてくれます、また独特の読後感がありますね。
私的には何となくですが「世にも奇妙な物語」を見ているかのような錯覚に陥りました。
奇妙な世界…でもないのですがね(汗)

なかなか面白いですよ。
短編なので区切り区切り読めるという点もお気に入りの一つですね。
