４章「伽藍の洞」と５章「矛盾螺旋」が収録されており、
直死の魔眼や魔術師などの設定に関する事が明らかになっていきます。
上巻のように時系列がややこしいことはないですが、
難解なところが多く気楽に読めるということはないです。

ただ、話自体のおもしろさで途中で放り出すどころか一気に読み進めました。
ダークな物語の中で、それだけじゃない場面があったのも良かったです。

菊池先生の解説にも納得です。

私は今まで色んなジャンルの本を読み【哲学書、動物行動学、等】この本を中学生の姪に進められ読みましたが、一日半で全三冊読破する程面白かったです。今までに無い位引き付けられました。後私自身痛覚鈍いのでその薬等の事も詳しく調べて有りましたが。後幹也の苗字が黒桐でこくとう正に式の仏の詩人見た。とにかく何時も難しい本読んでる方にもオススメ。

新奇伝の大型新人、難解な文書と言われていたので読んでみました。
正直な感想は良くも悪くも
「深夜帯アニメの総集編のような」
面白いけれど浅薄です。

普通に京極夏彦氏、菊池秀行氏、夢枕獏氏の小説を読んできた方には
「講談社新書や講談社文庫で売られるレベルじゃないな。」
という感想を持たれると思います。

物語に引き込む力はあると思いますが、資料不足の中書いたのか、同人誌として発表された？ためなのか、堂々と間違いが書かれていたり、論理展開というよりは屁理屈をこね回しているような破綻した文章が目立ちます。
私自身は嘘も屁理屈も、読者をうならせる、そして引き込ませるような「上手い嘘」であれば、問題ないと思うし、それこそが作家の技量だと思いますがまだまだそこまでの感じはないです。
章末のキメの１行で大爆笑ということが結構ありました。

時列を前後する手法は普通に本を読む人間にとっては全く問題ありませんし、寧ろ冒頭に書いたように、物語の見せ方に艶があり、ダレ場がないため、アニメやゲームシナリオとしては面白いと思います。
ただ小説としては影響を受けている作家さんの「本歌取り」までいっていないのが残念です。
