恩田陸の名作長編「麦の海に沈む果実」の続編。

前作は物語の中のような（まあ物語なんですが）学園の中での幻想的なミステリで、ファンタジー色も強かったが、今作はグッとミステリ色が濃くなり、随所に散りばめられた謎や伏線が、一癖も二癖もある色とりどりの人物によって紡がれる。

誰が味方か、誰が敵か、何を考えているのか、事件の真相は…？ラストのラストまで気を抜けない、静かなミステリ。聡明な主人公・水野理瀬にシンクロしながらも諸処のキャラの目線に立って読み進めてください。

前作からの継続キャラが少ない上、ストーリー上の内容もそれほど関連していないため、前作を見なくても十分楽しめるが、やはり目を通しておいた方が面白い。
恩田陸はスピンオフや予告編などは目にするが、このシリーズほど地続きなシリーズは珍しい。構想段階と言われる完結作「薔薇の中の蛇」にも期待！

「麦の海に沈む果実」の続編「黄昏の百合の骨」、タイトルからして魅力的。
読んでると、静かにその世界に沈んでいくような、不気味な魅力に没頭してしまう。

祖母の遺言により、白百合荘に帰ってきた理瀬。2人の叔母と暮らし高校に通う。
祖母の遺言の謎、死の謎、失踪の謎、百合の謎・・・

一文字一文字しっかり読んで自分なりに推理したけど、”最後まで気が抜けないな!”
というのが感想。本当、気が抜けない！

今、読もうか迷ってるなら、肌寒くなった秋口に読むのがお勧め。この世界観とピッタリだと思うから。

ああ、こういう世界観の本は余韻に浸ってるのも心地いい。
次の本になかなか進めない幸せ！いいねいいね。

恩田陸の真骨頂といえます
上辺はかわいい女の子とかっこいい男の子達が出てきて
美しい光景と郷愁が支配する恩田陸ワールドですが、
中をのぞいてみると圧倒的なほど暗くドロドロした世界が
広がっています。
また、でてくる女性も少女もあどけなさを残しているのに
大人の女性のしたたかさを持っている。それは主人公も
例外ではありません。
善は悪をひきたてる存在という言葉は前作の少女から女性に
成長した理瀬らしく、また現実世界にも通じる言葉だと思い
ました。

こんなにも幻想的なのに物語の端々に深く現実が横たわり、
悪意が渦巻いている。なのに、それを美しいと思ってしまいました。
この読後感は読んだ者にしかわからない。

ああ、だめだ。しばらく恩田ワールドからぬけれそうにありません。
