5.0 out of 5 stars 今読むと著者の先見力に唸らされる, 2008/10/25
本書の出版は06年11月。つまり小泉から安倍に政権が移った、正にその時に書かれている。当時、安倍を小泉イズムの後継者、と見なす論調が多い中、この時点で安倍のナイーブさに触れ、なおかつ「安倍は小泉のような人間ではなく、むしろ森喜朗のような調整型人間。小泉のような大胆な改革を求めるのは酷ではないか」と喝破しているのは注目に値する。

もちろん、関係の深さから小泉への評価は甘くなりがちであり、この辺は鼻につくが、上記の安倍への評価だけでも本書は読むに値すると思う。

帯には「これを読まずに安倍政権は語れない」とある。
小泉政権の歩んだ道と、安倍氏を含む政治家の動きをほぼ時系列で記している。新聞などで報じられた事実は知っていても、その裏事情が「そういうことだったのか」と理解できた。
特に秀逸なのは「むすびに」で述べた小泉政治の「三つの功と二つの罪」で、この国の今後の政治のあり方を考えるには貴重な分析であり、確かに安倍政権の行方をみる良い視座となる。
ただし私は自民党に投票はしていない。
