3.0 out of 5 stars 選者の早急な交代を望む, 2006/5/17
このシリーズも17巻まで到達したわけだが、その面白さは巻数に反比例しているように思う。
そして、その原因は選者である阿刀田高氏にあると自分は考えている。理由は二つ。

一つは、先代選者である故星新一氏がショートショートの禁じ手として挙げていた時事ネタ作品を取り上げている事。
そしてもう一つは(これが最大の理由なのだが)、阿刀田高氏が短編と違い、ショートショートに関してお世辞にも良作と呼べる代物をほとんど残していないのに、選評で細かく難癖をつけてくる事だ。
自身はオチが目に見えていたり、明らかに書き方や着想が海外のSF作家と酷似していたりするものを発表しておきながら、それはないだろうと思う。

氏もかなりお歳を召されているようだし、早いとこ井上雅彦氏辺りにバトンタッチしていただきたいものだ。選評の不愉快さで星は二つ減。

　講談社の「小説現代」誌上で行っている「ショートショートコンテスト」の入選作を集めた作品集第１７弾。
　様々なジャンルにわたり、多くの個性が楽しめる、ショートショートファン必読の書。
　阿刀田高の選評つきで、ショートショートを書いている人にも参考になる。
　「最高！」と叫びたくなる作品もあれば、「この程度なら自分にも書ける」と思うものもある。
　ショートショートの世界を盛り上げるためにも、是非皆さんに読んでいただきたい。
