最初の方はこれからどうなるんだろう？？とわくわくしながら読みました。
ただ、須磨子のキャラクターがどうにも薄く感じられ、
付き合っていた割に妙に上辺の綺麗な所しか見せ合っていないような
印象を受けました。後輩の早川の方がよっぽどうまく描かれてます。
そして、一番残念なのが、犯人とその動機の部分……。
引っ張って引っ張って、じらした結果がこれかと。
面白くないわけじゃないけど、色々と惜しい作品だと思います。

有栖川さんの著書でここまで恋愛色の強い作品はないということもあって読んでみたんですが、すごくいい話でした･･･｡もちろんミステリ小説としてもよくできてると思うのですが、ミステリ苦手な人にも是非薦めたい恋愛小説です。殺されて幽霊になってからも恋人を想いやる心。思い出しても胸がつまりそうです。だけど、初っ端から死んでいた主人公なんだから､ラストは当然想像がついていたけど･･･。ハッピーエンドではないと思います。でも、最善の終わり方だとは思ったかな。読み終えてから涙がちっとも止まらなかった。

今までとはまったく違う面白い作品でした。主人公は刑事の幽霊。どうして自分が殺されることになったのか捜査を始めるが、ものには触れないし、ひとに話しかけても聞こえない。誰も自分を認めてくれない。結婚を考えていた恋人さえも。ものには触れないのにどうして椅子には座れるのか、とか、バスには乗れるのか、といった小さな疑問はさておき、その捜査の過程がおもしろい。自分を殺した犯人はわかっているが、動機が全くわからない。唯一自分と話すことの出来た同僚早川くんとともに真犯人に迫っていくが。。。

これまでのように、トリックに重きを置いた内容ではなく、恋愛小説としても読める、ひと味違った有栖川氏が楽しめます。登場人物（特に主人公の恋人須磨子）の心情がよく描けていると思います。有栖川氏の作品にはやっぱり早川君のようなちょっととぼけたようなキャラクターがかかせませんね。内容として結構ありきたりかなあ、なんて思いながら、しかし有栖川ファンとしては読まずにはいられない、と思って買いました。◎でしたよ~。不覚にも最後はうるうるしてしまいました。
