　主人公が婚約者の父親である作家の自殺について
追究していくうちに謎が謎を呼び、やがて主人公の身に……。
読者を引き込む力があり、最後まで一気に読みきってしまいました。
　ミステリらしい(?)種明かしの部分には驚かされましたが、
確かにオチには納得できない人もいるでしょうね。
私自身はこれもありなんだ、と思いました。きれいさっぱり片を付けて
エンドマークを打つとその世界は完結しますが、こっちの世界にまで
何かが残ってしまう感じ、この不安さがこの作品の面白さ
じゃないでしょうか。少し、作品の中に引っ張り込まれすぎるので、
こっちに戻されたとき呆然となってしまいますが。

巧みなストーリー展開と読み易さで、引き込まれたまま一気に読みました。が、途中
までパズラー的な読み応えだっただけに、不条理感漂うオチには正直ガックリきました。
私は賛否でいえば否のほうです、残念ながら。
しかし、前半の仕掛けには全く気付きませんでした。それを違和感なく読ませる技量は
素晴らしいものです。思わず必死に読み返していました。
途中まで５つ星の展開でしたので、着地さえ決まっていれば、、、残念です。

　なんとなく、途中で筋が分かったんですが、寝なくてはいけない時間→でも恐くて電気消せない。ということで、４分の３読んだところで先に最後を読んでしまいました。１０数年振りですよ、そんなことしたの。

　オチに賛否両論あったようですが、嫌いではありません。・・・もう少し謎の理由をどうにかして欲しかったですが、倉坂鬼一郎さんが書いたりしたらもっといやな気分のラストだったろうと思うので。・・・こんな納得の仕方は間違ってますか・・・。
　怖さのツボが映画版『リング』系の方にお薦めします。
