野沢さんの作品で評価が高い「深紅」よりも以前に書かれた本作品、ある意味本書のほうがスゴいな、というのが読後の率直な感想。

人身売買目的の幼児誘拐事件の捜査員本人の子が誘拐されるという意表をつくプロットは「深紅」同様すごすぎですが、我が子を取り戻さんとする捜査員の執念・後半の息つく暇も無いアクションで途中一切ダレなし。

ストーリーのキモの部分なので詳述は避けますが胸の悪くなるような幼児虐待の描写を含め、犯人像の描写も巧みで人質となった幼児とその親との心理戦がテンポのよいアクションと相俟ってスパイラルにストーリーを盛り上げます。完成度高し。

こんなにおもしろいのに話題になっていないのが不思議・・・。
婦人警官であるよりも母であり、警察相手に誘拐犯と・・・。
一読です。

昔、安田成美が主人公で、田中美佐子が悪役でドラマやってました。
あまり見ていなかったので、全く先入観無く読んだのですが、子供を奪還するために、仲間をも敵に回して立ち向かっていく主人公に、同じ子供を持つ母親として、ものすごく共感しました。
どんどんいやな展開になっていくので、読んでいくのがつらくなってくるのだけれど、やめられない！ラストが心配になって、思わず最後の方をパラパラ読んでしまいたくなる！
悪人であるはずの、智永、泉、泰史、そしてフィリピン人のグエンでさえも切ない悲しい壮絶な人生。愛情持って描かれていますね。
最後は読者自身もボロボロになって、へとへとになって、ラストを迎えることでしょう。
