多くの人が、老後はまだ、先のこととして、「何とかなるだろう」と言った楽観的な考えでいるのが現実であろう。

そのような甘い考えに著者は強く警笛を鳴らす。例えば、本書の中で著者は「目標代替率」と「退職準備指数」という指標を独自に定義し、退職後の生活のための準備が如何に不足しているかを示している。おそらく、自分で計算してみて安心できる人は２割もいないのではないか。ライフプランニングの大切さを強く認識させられる好著である。

資産運用の必要性がアンケート結果やデータから身近にそしてわかりやすく書かれていました。思ったよりも、長生きする、お金がかかる、資金不足、、、知っていたようで気づかなかったことに気づき、行動することの大切さ教えてくれる一冊です。

ウチの両親は現在共に75歳。
この間父親とたまたまお金の話をしていたら、父母2人で生活費が『毎月最低17万円はかかる』と言っていた。
持ち家だからこのぐらいで済むのだろうが、賃貸だったら駐車場第なども含め25万円ぐらいはかかるのだろう。
病院通いになったり、介護をつけたりすることになればこれ以上のお金がかかる。
一方、年金でもらえるお金は月22万円程度。
仮にこの差を父母自身で埋めなければならないとしたら、これまでの「貯蓄でまかなう」か「働く」しかな｢。
しかし、「働く」と言っても75歳の老人を喜んで雇用するところもなかなかないであろう。

この本にもあるとおり、2020年になれば65歳以上の1人を現役世代が1人で支えることになる。
自分がリタイアするころを想像するとゾッとした。
将来の自分が頼れるのは現在の自分しかいない。
老後にも存在する格差社会に惨めな思いはしたくない。
「いまから無理なくできることはやっておきたい」
とこの本を読んでそう思いました。
