モンテッソーリ教育のことをわかりやすく紹介している本だと思います。興味があるのによくわからないという人や、独特の教育なので偏見を持ったりうわさに流されがちになってしまう人などにとって、理解を助ける書だと思います。モンテッソーリ教育を勉強したものですが、学びのスパイラルが癒しになるということの再認識をでき、正常化と呼ぶよりも学びのスパイラルのほうがわかりやすく、スパイラルの図が頭に焼き付いて子供への接し方も、通常は見えにくい方向性を感じられて役立ちます。また、障害児教育を通しての視点もモンテッソーリが子供の本質をついた教育だということを感じることができます。
ただ、個人的には帯に英才教育と書かれているのにはちょっと抵抗を感じました・・。店頭でのアイキャッチにはなるでしょうが、英才教育というよりももっと自然なものだと思うので。

アメリカ在住の友人が、子どもをモンテッソーリ教育で育てているというので興味をもって本を探してみました。

が、どれも専門的すぎて難しすぎる…。

ということで、この本が一番、入門書としてはわかりやすかったので購入しました。ただわかりやすい反面、理念はわかったけど、具体的な方法については、あまり理解が深まったという気はしませんでした。

初心者にはお勧め。

モンテッソーリ教育の名前は聞いたことがありますが、具体的な教育方法を新書版で簡潔にまとめている本は初めてでした。
自分の子育てと対比して、反省材料になる本です。
