とにかく、いわさきちひろさんの挿絵が美しいです。全てのページ、見開きでちひろさんの作品を、世界を堪能できます。2歳になる娘にちょうどいい絵本を探していたところ、たまたま見つけたのですが、私がこの本に惚れ込んでしまって、自分の為に購入してしまいました。私には痛い出費で購入を迷ったのですが、諦めきれず、出会った数日後に購入。「おやゆびひめ」の本はもともと別の本を持っていたのですが、このちひろさんの描く本当にかわいい「おやゆびひめ」に出会ってしまったら、他の「おやゆびひめ」は読めません。この美しい本を大切にしたいので、娘がもう少し大きくなって、本を大切に扱えるようになるまで待つつもりですが、はやく娘にこの美しい本を見せてあげたいです。

5.0 out of 5 stars 絵本を見ていた小さかった頃が、あざやかによみがえりました, 2009/10/27
本のタイトルはすっかり忘れましたが、中に「おやゆびひめ」のお話が入っていて、
ほかの絵とはタッチの異なる独特の描き方でした。
その絵が、ちひろさんの手によるものだったと知ったのは、ずいぶん大きくなって
からのことでした。
小さい私はもっとはっきりしたリアルな絵のほうにひき込まれたので、当時は
ちひろさんの絵から感じるものはあまりありませんでした。
それが、１０代の終わりくらいから変わってきました。
子どもは着飾らなくていい、媚びることなどしなくていい、子どもがそこにいる
というだけで心が満たされるのを、絵から感じられるようになりました。
「おやゆびひめ」は、何十年も前に私が初めてちひろさんの絵と出合った貴重なお話。
ああ、もう一度、幼いあの頃に戻れたらなあ…。
