　幼少の頃、最初いわさきちひろの絵本を見たときは「毒々しい色使いで気持ち悪い」と思っていたが、それでもその印象は今だ少しながら残っている。
　最近になって少しずつ絵画というものが分かりかけて来て、いわさきちひろを見直したとき、それらの絵の奥にある子供への慈愛が溢れんばかりに押し寄せ、自分が何かを取り返した気分になれた。

　絵本でのいわさきちひろは子供が楽しむものであるが、この本(画集)は大人になって更ためて、いわさきちひろを見返す事が出来るでしょう。もう少しお金があれば、ちひろ美術館に(大人どうしで)行くことも薦めます。
