この本の言う“研究”は医学分野に偏り過ぎている。私は工学系の学生だったので、読んでいてあまり面白くなった。私としてはこの本は、理工学系の学生には薦められない。

現在情報系の修士２年生なのですが、研究に行き詰まったときにふと手に取った本がこの本です。

　今まで、研究はつまらないものと思っていたのですが、考えようによっては面白くすることもできるなぁと思いました。特に、この本を書いた坪田先生は、研究を非常に楽しんでやっていることが、言葉の端々から伝わってきます。
　おかげで、頑張って研究を進めてみようという気になりました。

　ただ、分野が医学に偏っているため、全ての分野に通じるようなものではないです。分野ごとに研究生活やそれに伴う仕事も全然違うので、ひとくくりに「理系のための」とまとめることはできないと思います。そこが残念です。

題名的には研究生活ガイドだが、私は研究に関係する人じゃなくても面白く読めると思う。

どんな仕事をするにしても、目的やモチベーションの維持とかその辺りは普遍的に存在する問題だと思うから。アプローチはいっぱいあるだろうけれど、著者は一つの明確な路線をこの本で示していてくれるなと思えた。

本自体は少し(結構?)古いから、意味を持たない情報も多いけれど、ペーパの書き方とかは殆ど変わっていないです。理系の子だと結構参考になるかもです。

読み物としても面白いからさくさく読めますよ。
