この本の速読法はいわゆる右脳速読とは違います。
右脳速読を費用対効果から考えて時間の無駄であると主張しています。
いままで右脳速読の本を読んできた人、右脳速読を習得しようとしてきた人が読むと面食らいます。
眼球トレーニングは必要ないとまで言っています。
この本で言う速読は
「拾い読み」「飛ばし読み」「抜かし読み」「求め読み」「探し読み」「待ち伏せ読み」
のことで、一字一句読んでいく読み方ではなく、
結局のところ、ポイントを早くつかむ方法です。
どうトレーニングするといいかまでは書かれていません。
著者は53歳から勉強を始めて８０余りの資格を取ったそうで、第4章は速読というより勉強法に割かれています。
確かにこの本で主張していることなら、すぐに実行できそうです。

巷にあふれた速読本ように訓練云々の類ではなく
いろいろな読み方によって読書スピードを上げる方法が書かれています。
全てを活用しようとは思わなくても
漢字やカタカナはキーワードになっている事が多いので
それらを眺めながら読んでいく方法は参考になりました。

右脳速読に関して批判していますがおおむね同感です。
できるかどうかわからない速読法よりは
こういった内容の本の方が有用である気がします。

　私もタイトルの「朝5分」に惹かれて買いました。そのことに触れているのは４ページだけです。それに他の速読法の非難が多すぎてその部分は読んでいていい気はしませんでした。それで星二つ減らしました。それ以外は実践的で現実に可能な速読法とそれを生かした勉強法が分かりやすく書かれていて役立ちます。チャレンジしたい資格がありますので、第4章のビジネスマンのための「速読勉強法」は実践してみようと思います。
