著者の体験は壮絶、としかいいようのないものだし、涙なくしては読めないものだが、しかし、読後感はきわめてよい。それは、出てくる人たちすべてに対する著者の視線が愛情に満ちあふれているせいだろう。やくざのアンちゃんも、映画館のおじさんも、床屋のお姉さんも、みんなみんな心優しい人たちだ。いじめとか、子どもの自殺とか、息苦しい今の時代にこそ多くの人に読んでもらいたい本だ。

後書きまでの全てを読み終え表紙、裏表紙の幸せそうな幼少時の著者の写真を見たら泣けて泣けて仕方ありませんでした。よくぞこの壮絶な体験を本にしてくれました。上條さんはその後江森くん達と再会を果たせたのでしょうか。この出版がきっかけで上條さんが昔の友人の方と再会できるといいなあと思っています。私はこれほどまでの経済的困窮状態を体験したことはありません。読後は一生懸命今を生きてゆこうと思えてきます。安っぽい感動作ではありません。流行の癒し本でもありませんが精神的にまいっている時に読んでもいいかと思います。

壮絶な人生を送ってきた著者をやさしく支えるやくざの２人組、
床屋のお姉さん。普通の人が普通にやさしかった時代。
この本には人のやさしさがたくさんつまっている。
