本が届き、孫が帰った後読みました。
お話に引き込まれ絵を見る余裕がありませんでした。
何度も何度も繰り返し読みました。
これが子どもの本なのでしょうか。
自分らしく自分で考え自分で選んで生きていくことの
きびしさや、決してひとりではなく誰かが見守ってく
れてた時のあったかい思い出。自分で選んだ道を歩
きはじめて手にした大事な宝物の思い出を抱きしめな
がら過ごす不安な日々。それなのに穏やかな心。
ただただ涙が溢れました。
楽なほうについ流されていく日々。誰か大勢の群れの
中にいなければ不安になる人がどれだけ多いことか。
ともすれば優しさが追いやられてしまう人の世界。
私も心の片隅に優しさを住まわせ、感謝の気持ちを忘
れず自分らしく強く生きて行こうと思います。
本当に素敵な本をありがとう。

ふぶきのあしたを読んで涙が止まらず、またやりきれない思いがしていました。
今回ガブとメイに久しぶりに会う事が出来て嬉しくもあり、また二人のいきさつを思い起すと「二匹はあれでよかったのかも」と思えてきました。
児童書なのに大人をもとりこにしてしまうこのシリーズは、私のそして家族の宝物です。

「あらしのよるに」ｼﾘｰｽﾞは作者の意図もあり、友情とも男女の恋愛とも解釈できるように書かれていますが、この一作に限れば許されざる恋のせつなさがしひしと伝わります。
挿絵でも　メイの表情がわかる場面は目をつぶり全てをガブにゆだねた安心しきった女性の表情だし、ガブのメイを見つめる眼差しのなんと優しいことか。
　「ガブを　えらんだときから　わたしは　いままでの　じぶんを　すてた。」「たとえ　どんなに　さむくても、どんなに　ふぶきが　あれくるっても、いっしょに　いれば　だいじょうぶだよね。」
