傑作と呼べるかどうかは別として楽しめました。
最後のどんでん返し、ちょっと無理もあるかな？という感もしましたが、全体的によくまとまった作品でした。

ただ、難点としたら、人物描写でしょうか？個人的には誘拐犯の娘である朝倉緋呂子の淡白さが気になりました。新聞記者になる位だったらあんなに冷めているのはどうかと・・・
あとは、ラストに付け加えられたエピローグは蛇足だったと思います。それかもう少し現実的な方がよかったと感じます。このエピローグがこれまでのトーンを一新して、安手のドラマのようにしてしまったように感じられました。
殆どの人物描写がそれほど詳しくないのに、それほど必然性もないのに、目撃者である風俗嬢の生活、行動描写が詳しすぎたような気がします。やっぱり男性読者を意識してでしょうか？

いくつかの点は気になったものの、最近の新進作家のミステリーの中ではよく書けているし、構成の仕方などは上手いと思います。

誘拐犯とされた男の娘が新聞社に採用され、スキャンダルになる。それが発端となり、二十年前の事件が再び洗いなおされる。当時誘拐され、行方不明になったままの嬰児…もう、死んでいるに違いないと誰もが思っていた。が、物語の最後に事件の意外な真相が明らかになり、あっと言わせる。ぐんぐん読ませる面白さがある。あっといわせる結末のためにちょっと強引さを感じないでもないが、純粋に小説の楽しさを味あわせてくれた。今後の作者の活躍に期待します。
