3.0 out of 5 stars 内容はよいが、あまりにあっさりしすぎか？, 2003/4/30
タイトル通り、こんな人でも（失礼な言葉ですいません）やれば英語ができるようになると思いながら、読み進めていく。しかし、途中で英会話スクールのところで、今までこれ以上はないというくらい勉強したとのくだりがあり、その後こんなに早く（約半年で）5ランクアップした人はいないという長足の進歩をしているという記載あり。

そこのところが一番知りたいのに。あっさり書かれすぎ。
しかし、人間やれば出来るようになるという例としては参考になるのでは？

英語をマスターしたい！と思いつつも、英語を勉強していた頃からは
随分と年月が経ち、さて、どこから手をつけたらいいのかさっぱりわからない。
とにかく英語というのは、星の数ほどたくさんの参考書・教材がありすぎて、それらを眺めているだけでため息が出てしまう。
そんな時、この本を手に取ってもう一度、楽しんで英語を勉強したいと思い返した。

最初から英語が大好きだった人、高学歴のどこぞの教育者が書いたものではないからこそ、
親近感が湧き、どんな風に英語を学習していったら良いのか、その道しるべを示してくれる。

本の内容は、「高卒・留学経験なしでも英語はできる」を文句に、「英語を話したい」あるいは「落ちこぼれから脱出したい」と思う日本人の気持ちをくすぶる啓蒙的な書である。著者は自分が英語をマスターしたと言い切る理由に、自分がTOEICで高得点を取ったことを挙げている。しかし英語をマスターするとは、果たしてTOEICで高得点を取るためだけのことなのだろうか？私は本当に英語を話せるようになりたいと思うなら、やはり生の英語を直に聴いていくこと（留学）が最良だと思う。「習うより慣れろ！」ですね！
