最近の話題作から６０、７０年代のスタイリッシュなフランス映画などの旧作までの映画２００本について、キュートでエスプリにあふれたイラストと、ときどき毒舌がまざるちょっとした解説、著者の独断による星取り評価が出ています。

「大味もの」とか「スカシもの」とか作品の分類が笑えます。中でもニコラス・ケイジ主演作だけはは「ケイジもの」と特別に一章をあてられていたりします。

スキな俳優とそうじゃない俳優、ださださだったり、おマヌケだけどスキな俳優（ニコラス・ケイジが典型ね！）みたいに著者は好き嫌いがはっきりしているみたいだけど、そこが嫌味じゃなくて愛嬌になっているところが人柄ですよね・・・。

話題作は当然外さず、でも決して大作に偏らない。マイナー作品や、６０年??７０年代の古い映画をふっと取り上げたりする作品選択もなかなかよいです。

横版のめずらしい装丁、値段はやや高めに感じるかもしれませんが、上質紙の持つとずっしりとくるぶ厚さと、オールカラーの楽しいイラストが全ページに満載されていることを考えると値段以上の満足感の高い本だと思います。

自分が見たことがある作品のページを繰っていくのもいいし、これからレンタルしてくるビデオの選択をする上での参考にするでもよいし、ちょっとした映画通になれそうな、なにかと使い勝手のよい楽しい本。

テレビ放映も楽しみにしていたファンの一人として一言。

映画を語ったり感じたりする時は誰でもそうでしょうが…
「この映画、嫌だな…」と感じる境界線が
とても個人的であり、女性的であり、しかもそれが全面に出ている本です。

自分が映画を選ぶ際の基準というより、著者の感じ方を楽しむというのが正しい使い方かも知れない。
いわば、この本自体が十分な価値のある一つの作品といった印象。

ただ、イラストや着眼点が面白いことは勿論。映画への興味も深めてくれる本でしょう。
