姉が宮本輝さんが好きで、家に宮本さんの本がたくさんありました。
何気なく手にとった一冊だったのですが、とても素敵なお話です。
夫をなくした主人公と偶然夫の遺書とも思える手紙が隠されていた絵の作家雅道。この2人の恋愛模様、また、夫が経営していた店をめぐっての様々なトラブル・・・。

いつまでたっても女は女でありたいし、また、ただ守られるだけじゃなく、自分の足でしっかり立って自分の守るべきものを必死に守っていくという様子に共感を持ちました。
宮本さんの作品は主人公の心理描写がとてもうまく描けていて、特に女の視点から書いたものは格別だと思います。どれも繊細で心にスッと入ってきます。

また、舞台となっている神戸の情景が読んでいるうちにありありと思い浮かべることが出来、神戸を訪れてみたいと思いました。

この「花の降る午後」はページ数が多く、一度に読むには２・３時間かかるかもしれませんが、あっという間に引き込まれてしまうので、一気に読めました。

宮本さんの作品はどれも好きですが、このお話が一番お気に入りかもしれません。

宮本輝さんの作品は、その情景とか雰囲気がしっかりと伝わってきて、その世界をイメージしやすい物が多いと思います。今回は神戸の街が舞台となり、地名や言葉遣いからそのイメージをたっぷり膨らませる事ができました。ただ、残念だったのは途中まで盛り上がった事件が最後はしりつぼみのように終わってしまったことです。でも、ぐいぐい引き込まれ、あっという間に読み終わってしまいました。

神戸に憧憬を持っているひとにお勧めします。 他の宮本作品にも通じている優雅さや品のある会話のなかでも、 登場人物はそれぞれ言いたいことをはっきり言って したいことをしっかりやっている、そういう貪欲さが、 作品を輝かせているんだと思う。
