御手洗シリーズを、出版された順に読むという企画を立てた自分ですが、なかなか本が届かないので、これを読みました。一日で読んでしまいました。「占星術」もよかったけど、これは心に響く作品でした。謎の主人公と一緒になって謎を探索していった後に辿りついたのは「石岡クンと御手洗の出会い」！ああ、そういうことだったのか！「占星術」を読んだだけの私でも感慨深いものだったのですから、何冊か御手洗シリーズを読んで、これが出版された時のファンの感動はもっとすごかったのではないかと思います。ある意味、もっと後のほうで読めばよかったなあと少し後悔したりもしていますが、「改訂完全版」もあるので、こちらを後のお楽しみにとっておきます。島田氏が書いたはじめての小説ということで、未熟さはあるかもしれませんが、それを補ってあまりある魅力があります。御手洗もカッコいい。感動の一冊でした。

将来のことなんてよく分からない不安いっぱいの大学生のころ、なん度も読み返して勇気を与えてもらいました。作中で御手洗が愛聴しているチック・コリアの『浪漫の騎士』もぜひ。

石岡くんを心から愛するカズミストたちのバイブル！！！！
島田氏の魅力が、はじめからおわりまで満載されてます。
読むしかない！！
