シリーズの1作目となります．

日本人なら誰もが知っているであろう『聖徳太子』を題材にした歴史ミステリで，
その有名さから，そちらにあまり興味がない人にも読みやすいように感じられます．
また，世代によっては教わったこととまるで違う現在の説におどろくかもしれません．

ただ，複数の事件が発生し，それらがいろいろと繋がっていく流れではあるものの，
パズルが埋まっていくような気持ちよさは薄く，気がつけば繋がっていたという印象．

とはいえ，語られていた聖徳太子にまつわる『仮説』はなかなか興味を惹かれましたし，
残されたままの事件や，紹介程度だった主人公らの『血筋』は続刊を期待させてくれます．
ある意味『パターン化』していたキャラクタ設定や，今後のラブコメ展開を予感させるなど，
本格的とまでは言えないでしょうが、『歴史エンタテインメント』としてなら楽しめそうです．

密室殺人事件、盗難事件に歴史蘊蓄が絡んで〜、という｢QED｣と同じ構成。
ただ、蘊蓄は少なめです。｢QED｣の蘊蓄にうんざりしている人にはオススメ。
ボリュームが少ないこともありますが、手軽に読めるのでは。

シリーズは伊賀忍者の末裔である鴨志田甲斐(出賀茂神社の跡取り)と貴湖(現役東大生巫女)とほうろく(忍者犬)が盗まれたあるモノと兄と慕う諒司を巡るなかて様々な事件に巻き込まれたり挑んだりする体。


史実は勝者の描く歴史というのは「QED」でも語られていますがこのシリーズではその部分をクローズアップして進行していくようです。


甲斐は基本オキラクゴクラクタイヘイラクのようにしていますが…忍者ですよ、しっかり。

今回は「聖徳太子」かれにまつわる謎とともに事件がすすんでいきます。


シリーズはいまのところ最新刊まで読んでいますがボリュームから考えるとノベルズより文庫刊行だったら、あとひとつ★を増やしたし。


因みに時系列や時空は桑原祟たちと同じであります。
