2.0 out of 5 stars 次作と続けて読んだ方がいいんじゃない, 2005/12/1
　山奥の奇妙な館、超能力者、嵐、殺人、脱出付加、、、とくれば、典型的な館もの。更にそこで密室殺人事件が発生する、というストーリ。
　森ミステリには珍しく、前評判が悪かったので、正直、期待せずに読んだ。期待しなくて正解だった。
　ミステリというのは、基本的に「犯人、動機、トリック（アリバイ）」が解決されて完結するのだが、本書では解決するのはトリックだけ。しかもそのトリックがあまりにも物理的だった。犯人は不明、動機も不明、意味深なエンディング、とまるで「次作に続く」と言わんばかりだ。
　殺人事件が発生しているにも関わらず、全く緊張感のない登場人物の会話には少々閉口気味。犀川があっという間にトリックを解決したので、思考をトレースする楽しみもない。とある仕掛けについては、早々に判ってしまった。トリックを楽しむ方は幻滅すると思う。
　Ｖシリーズの場合は、１つの話は完結しているが、「これは何の伏線だろう」という含みがあり、全体の仕掛けを同時に楽しむことができたが、本書は、全体の仕掛けのための１ピースという位置づけみたいだ。
　真賀田四季に対する作者の入れ込みが深いのか、今後、四季がどのように絡んでくるのだろう。
　これ一作だけでは評価できないなあ。

残念ながら、本著者のファンというわけではなく、数冊しか著作を読んだことがありません。確か「面白い」と思った作品もあったはずで、それで本作も読んでみたわけです。

でも本作品の感想としては「つまらない。」くらいしかありませんね。シリーズだから云々という「見識」はもちろんあるんでしょうが、一作品で「何も」完結していないのなら「シリーズ」もなにもなく、単なる「都合」で出版された本にしか見えません。

著者の「ファン」でないのなら、本作は全く読むに値しません。

この推理小説にはそもそもトリックというものがないようなものです。というかVシリーズ以降　そのようなものはほとんどなく登場人物の少々おもしろいやりとりなどでごまかしているだけです。Vシリーズもさることながら、どうやらこのGシリーズも読む価値はないようですね。
