前作でも感じたことだが、登場人物一人一人の心理描写が本当に上手い。
あっというまにひきこまれ、一気に読み終えてしまった。
ストーリーも面白かった。
ただ、時々描写が残酷で痛いので、抵抗感がある人もいるかも知れない。
次回はぜひ「雪の降る道」のような読後に心温まる作品を書いて欲しいと思う。

（最初に述べておきますが、「θ」の正体は作中ですぐに明らかになります。）
上巻で長い殺人ゲームを読んできたが後半では犯人の心情の揺らぎがリアルに描かれています。
何故か「i」の指定してくる人間は「θ」の周囲の人間ばかりだった。
戸惑い次第に憔悴しきる「θ」。そんな彼が次第に心引かれていった女性･･･それは月子だった。
『暗闇に蹲る僕を救ってくれるのはあなたの手のひらだけ･･･』
だけど月子に思いは届かない。
好きなのに。
ようやく欲しいと･･･思ったのに。
悲しいすれ違いが事件を結末へ導きます。
切なすぎる恋の錯誤は涙モノで、「冷たい~」もそうでしたが、読んだあとも話の世界から暫く抜け出せません。
最終的にハッピーとは言えないかもしれません。心温まる話ともいえないでしょう。ですがやがてじんわり、ゆっくりと浸透し、心の中に残る作品です。

　サイコ・スリラーと青春ドラマのコラボレーション。新人第二作目とすれば、充分に要求される水準を越えていると思う。
　……と、書いた上で、難癖をつけるわけでは毛頭ないのですが――現在のエンタメ小説界では、大なり小なりキャラクター小説的アプローチがなされているものが多く、それは時代の要請ということもあるのは重々承知してはいるのですが、時にはやはり「おおっ」となってしまうことも間々ありまして、例えば、美人を｢美人｣と表記してキャラクターを立ち上げてしまうのには、思わずたじろいでしまったりするわけです。――一昔前なら、美人を｢美人｣と表記したら、社会通念上の肯定性とそれが故の揶揄的なものがニュアンスとしてあったと思うんですが……作者の筆は濃やかで、随時挿入される印象的なエピソードとともに登場人物のパーソナリティは違和感なく肉付けされていく。私たちと地続きの世界にいる等身大の人間たち、なのに皆美形……唯一これを免れている失踪少年の人物造型が一番鮮やかだった。
　ともあれ、次作も期待。
