浦賀和弘の代表作の安藤シリーズと別のシリーズ。この作家独特のグロさの描写がなくなった。あれは若さの象徴だったのだろうかと感じる。しかし、今回の作品も主人公が若い分、表現も若く感じる。主人公たちが思い悩む、若い葛藤というものが最初の作品「記憶の果て」を連想させるが、より洗練された雰囲気である。この作者の持ち味の意外な結末はなかったが、最後までおもしろく読ませてもらった。

タイトルがユニークなので手に取り買ってみました。手に大怪我を負ったことから、人には言えない心の闇を持つ松浦純菜と、過去にからかいや苛めにあって性格がひねくれてしまった被害者意識の強い八木剛士の二人が主役です。あるきっかけから連続猟奇殺人の謎を追うことになった二人は、その過程で互いの心を重ね合わせてゆき、それが結果的に謎を解明に導きます。人間の心の闇は若い高校生にも当然あるわけで、この小説の特徴（長所）はその点を巧みに描きながら事件とシンクロさせているところです。それゆえか単なるミステリーの枠を超えた読後感を残しました。

思春期の特有の青さや他人との距離感がよく書かれていて
ミステリーだけでなく青春小説としても良作。
いまの高校生よりも1970-80年代生まれの思春期から抜けた
20代後半から30代はじめの人のほうが主人公に共感できる箇所は多いかも。

作中に主人公が現在のガンダムのプラモデルをあえて大目の接着剤を
使用して組み立ているシーンが記述されているが、この意味が分かる
人には特にお奨めな一冊
